Product overview

No contact. No wear. No service life limit.

In high-speed rotating machinery, a lip seal generates heat, wears progressively, and eventually fails. A labyrinth seal creates a tortuous path between the rotating shaft and stationary housing — the geometry prevents fluid and contaminant passage without any physical contact between the sealing elements.

Santoo supplies metallic and polymer labyrinth seal constructions for bearing housing protection across motors, gearboxes, turbines, centrifuges and heavy rotating equipment throughout GCC industry.

Construction types.

Metallic labyrinth sealsAluminium, stainless steel or carbon steel — for high-temperature and aggressive environments
Polymer labyrinth sealsEngineering polymer constructions — for chemical resistance and weight reduction
Split constructionTwo-piece designs — for retrofit installation without shaft disassembly
Unitised constructionSingle pre-assembled unit — for new equipment installation

Applications

Where labyrinth seals are specified.

Electric motor bearing housings, gearbox output shafts, turbine bearing assemblies, centrifuge spindles, and rotating equipment in steel and aluminium production, cement, power generation and marine applications throughout the GCC.

Common questions.

How does a labyrinth seal work?

It creates a tortuous non-contact path between rotating and stationary elements that dissipates energy — preventing fluid or contamination passage without rubbing contact.

What is the advantage over lip seals?

Labyrinth seals are non-contact — no heat generation, no wear, no friction service life limit. Correct choice for high-speed shafts and long-service bearing housing applications.
