Mechanical Seals.
Single seals, double seals, cartridge seals and API 682 compliant seals for pumps and rotating equipment. Supplied from Group manufacturing.
The mechanical seal is the most maintenance-sensitive component in a pump.
A mechanical seal prevents fluid from escaping along the rotating shaft of a pump or mixer. Two precision-lapped faces — one rotating, one stationary — maintain contact under spring load and system pressure. Face material combination, secondary sealing compound and flush arrangement must all be matched to the process fluid, temperature and pressure.
Santoo supplies single seals for general service, double seals for toxic or hazardous fluids requiring containment, and cartridge assemblies for ease of installation. API 682 (American Petroleum Institute Standard 682) compliant seals are available for refinery and petrochemical pump applications.

Seal configurations.
| Single seals | Single rotating face — for general pump applications in clean fluids |
| Double seals (back-to-back) | Two seals with barrier fluid between — for toxic, hazardous or abrasive media |
| Double seals (tandem) | Two seals in series — for applications requiring a safety containment seal |
| Cartridge seals | Pre-assembled, pre-set units — installation without measurement or adjustment |
| API 682 seals | Compliant with API Standard 682 — for refinery and petrochemical pumps |
| Face materials | Silicon carbide · Tungsten carbide · Carbon-graphite · Ceramic |

Where mechanical seals are specified.
Process pumps in oil and gas refining, water and wastewater treatment, chemical processing, desalination plants, marine ballast and cargo pump systems, and general industrial pump installations throughout the GCC.

Common questions.
What configurations are available?
Single seals, double seals (back-to-back and tandem), cartridge seals and API 682 compliant seals.
What face materials are used?
Silicon carbide, tungsten carbide, carbon-graphite and ceramic — matched to the process fluid and conditions.
Can mechanical seals be supplied as cartridge assemblies?
Yes. Pre-set and pre-assembled — installed without adjustment, reducing assembly error.
